Therapeutic Approach to Large Jaw Cysts
نویسنده
چکیده
Journal of Society for development in new net environment in B&H 1793 Jaw cysts of various dimensions are a common pathology encountered in oral surgery. The therapeutic approach to these pathological outgrowths depends on their dimensions and locality. It is a challenging task for any oral surgeon to manage a cyst, be it mandibular or maxillary, by applying a primary closing method. of this paper is to present a case study involving two patients and our therapeutic approach to resolving a problem of mandibular and maxillary cyst, respectively. The surgical technique we applied in these patients and the preoperative and postoperative problems encountered in both cases are also reported in the present study. By comparing the orthopantomographic pictures taken prior to surgical intervention with those taken several months following the surgical intervention, we could observe a good regeneration of the bone. Both patients were reported to be feeling well. jaw cysts, therapy, complications

Background & Aim: Jaw cysts are uncommon lesions that frequently behave aggressively and attain a large size. For definite diagnosis clinicoradiopathologic features are needed. Due to a great similarity between historical, clinical and radiological features of jaw cysts, the differentiation of one from another just by regarding one of these data is impossible. Not enough information is avai...
متن کاملDecompression as an effective primary approach to large radicular cyst in the maxillary sinus--A case report.
INTRODUCTION Therapeutic approach to jaw cysts may depend on their dimensions and localization. Enucleation of cystic lesion is not always preferable in the first act, especially if large cysts are in close proximity to important anatomical structures. The aim of this paper was to present the outcome of the treatment protocol comprising preoperative decompression and subsequent enucleation of a...
متن کاملManagement of large radicular cyst by conservative surgical approach: a case report.
Radicular cysts are the most common cystic lesions which affect the jaw. They are most common among all the jaw cysts and comprise about 52% to 68% of the entire cysts which affect the human jaw. They are generally symptomless and are diagnosed during routine radiologic investigations. The treatment of radicular cysts includes conventional nonsurgical root canal therapy when lesion is localized...
متن کاملEndoscopic-assisted Enucleation of Radicular Cysts - A Case Report.
The standard management for the majority of benign jaw cysts is enucleation, marsupialisation, curettage and decompression. Enucleation has the advantage that the whole specimen is sent for microscopic evaluation so that more sinister pathological processes (i.e. squamous cell carcinoma) may not be missed. In a large cystic lesion, enucleation is still possible, but technical difficulties might...

Radicular cysts are the most common inflammatory cysts. These cysts are found most commonly at the apices of the involved teeth. These cysts are seldom very large and very rarely cross the midline. There has been a review for Odontogenic k...
